Welcome to this post, and today we are going to try to talk about the difference between two languages which are ENGLISH LANGUAGE and SWAHILI LANGUAGE. Before we go direct to see the difference between these two languages, let's reminde ourselves the meaning of the term LANGUAGE.

Language is a system of arbitrariness vocal symbols which are conventional and used by human being in the process of communication. This is a short and a common definition of the term language.
Now let's look various differences between ENGLISH LANGUAGE and SWAHILI LANGUAGE as I explained bellow;

1) Difference in number of speakers; There is a quiet difference in the number of speakers when English language is compared to Swahili language. English language has many speakers than Kiswahili, to prove this, there are many nations in the world use English language as their language of communication, but Swahili language used by very few countries as the language of communication compared to English language.

2) Difference in geographical dispersion (coverage) ; There is also a wide difference in geographical dispersion between English language and Swahili language, English language cover a large part of the world than any language in this world, to prove this you can see a lot of country on this world use English language therefore English language has spread widely in the world, but Swahili language covers a small parts of the world, as you can see it being used in some few countries especially EAST AFRICAN countries.

3) Difference in numbers of vocabularies; Number of vocabularies is also a difference that we can use to differentiate English language and Swahili language. English language is a very rich language of vocabularies, this means English has a lot of vocabularies, but Swahili language has very few number of vocabularies compared to English language.

4)Difference in status; English language and SWAHILI language can also be differentiated in status. English language is a language which has high status in this world compare to other languages, to prove this, English language is used as a trade language also international language in this world. But Swahili Language has low status compared to English language.

5) Difference in number of vowels: we can also differentiate English language and Swahili language by the number of vowels found or available in each language. English language has many vowels, it is about 20 vowels which are available in English language, but Swahili language has just few number of vowels, it has only 5 vowels.

6) Difference in pronouciations; English language and Swahili language can also be differentiated by the way words are pronounced in these two languages. In English language words are always pronounced different from the way they are written, very few words in English language are pronounced as the way they have been written. But in English language words are just pronounced as the way they have been written.

7) Difference in origin; also we can differentiate English language from Swahili Language by origin of both these two languages. English language origin is different from swahili language origin.

Those were some difference which we can use to differentiate English language from Swahili language.
