Why does cockroach live longer without its head?
A cockroach can live longer without its head due to the following reasons:
1. It doesn't use nose to breath but it uses small holes found in its body known as spiracles. Therefore cutting off its head can't stop it from breathing.
2. It has an open circulatory system which support the blood in its body to flow freely without blood vessels. Therefore, when its head is removed the blood won't spilled out through the wound because there is no blood vessels to direct it out.
3. It can live longer without food and water. Thus, even if you remove its head, it will take some days to die of hunger.
