Communication


Communication is an act of exchanging information between people. It is very important to human life as it is used almost in every place, and it helps us to express feelings, to share ideas and to build relationship with others. This article is going to discuss the four (4) main types of communication.


1. VERBAL COMMUNICATION

Verbal communication is a type of communication which uses a spoken language to convey the message. It involves speaking and listening. It is very common and probably is a most used type of communication than any other type, because it is used in many occasions such as in presentations, interview, conferences, meetings, one-on-one conversation etc. During conversion, usually a non-verbal communication is used to aid a verbal communication.


2. NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION

Non-verbal communication is a type of communication which uses body language to convey the message, for example facial expression, gestures, postures etc. A non verbal communication doesn't involves spoken language however may be used to aid a verbal communication. 


3. WRITTEN COMMUNICATION

This is is a type of communication which uses texts or written language to convey the information, for example emails, essays, memos, even this article you are reading is an example of a written communication. It requires both writing skills and reading skills for people to be able to communicate. 


4. VISUAL COMMUNICATION

Visual communication uses images, videos, sketches and graphs to convey the message. It can also be used as an aid in presenting written or verbal communication to help readers or listeners to understand easily.
